Biografia

Fernanda Branco Belizário is a sociologist and the Principal Investigator and Coordinator of the EU-funded project RESILIA (2025–2027), addressing the mental health of migrant women in vulnerable contexts at the European level, hosted at Instituto Piaget, where she is an integrated researcher and Vice-Coordinator of the Health Research Group. She collaborates also with the Centre for Social Studies (CES), University of Coimbra, where she integrates the Portuguese team of the Horizon Europe project BIOTraces, focusing on intersectionality, participation, and environmental and social justice in biodiversity governance. .Additionally, she is a researcher in the FCT exploratory project FILMASPORA and a research consultant for several international NGOs and coalitions working on human rights and health justice, particularly with HIV key populations. Fernanda holds a PhD in Postcolonialism and Global Citizenship from the University of Coimbra (CES), and her research is grounded in feminist, queer, and postcolonial theories, with a strong emphasis on intersectionality, migration, gender and sexuality, sex work, mental health, consent, and participatory and regenerative governance.
